In the days of the old dust bowl troubador there was alot to be said.
And anyone who stood up for something was blacklisted for being a red.
It was high times on wall street and hard times on main street.
Ol' Woody couldn't believe his eyes. He wrote songs of resistance sung for unions who were fighting for their rights. With the likes of Heyes and Seeger by his side.
Y'all bound to lose!
Up comes a kid from Minnesota who discovers folk and blues.
Idolized Ol' Guthrie thus a similar career he would pursue.
But the times they were a changing, he'd visit his hero everyday before he died.
They nicknamed him the kid and everyone said he had that twinkle in his eye.
Now he walks not alone but with one of the most influential song books by his side.
How does it feel?
Many decades later and the influence of these men is still strong.
Generation after generation the kids are still compelled to sing along.
One of these kids was a young punk rocker from Florida and they're influence on me was great.
They sang of love, loss, the importance of community and smashing state.
I decided then and there I would do something if only a fraction as great.
fell into Days n' Daze when I was travelling, thanks to some of my road dogs. I don't have that freedom anymore but I feel a piece of it Everytime I listen to their music. love y'all! thefool309
